Thus far we have gone without the need for an explicitly stated set of rules for the club. It is a sad reality now that this oversight must be addressed. Please note that all rules apply not only to all members, but also to the moderators and administration as well. This applies to post topics, links, profiles and signatures.
1. The Sith Training Temple has been founded with one main purpose in mind; to share information on building a Darth Vader costume. Although there is some room for other topics, Darth Vader is the primary focus and all other topics should be shown to be in some way relevant to either Darth Vader, Star Wars or scratch-building.
2. Members, moderators and administrators will conduct themselves in an inoffensive manner conducive to a welcoming atmosphere. Inappropriate activity will be addressed as necessary on a case by case basis. Administrators will have the final decision, and majority rules. This does not put the occasional disagreement in a forum subject to retribution, but continued unwarrented activity from any single member will result in a warning to begin with. A continued lack of observation of stated rules will result in banning from the club.
3. The administration accepts the role of content directors and issue mediators. This means if an administrator is approached by a member who has concerns about other members' activity, or the nature of topics of discussion, these issues will be taken under consideration and addressed as deemed most appropriate. Remember, the administration is here to make the club a better place for the members, not to simply run the club as they choose.
4. Selling on the Sith Training Temple is restricted to Watto's Junkyard, and is only intended for Darth Vader, or at least Star Wars, related items. It is not intended as a place to direct a business, but rather to offer occasional items for sale in order that other members may benefit from something you no longer need.
5. Posting for the sake of posting should be kept to a minimum. For the most part, it is expected that posts will be relevant and add to a thread in some way. Excessive posting by members will be monitored by the admin team and that member may be approached about it. If posting continues to be excessive the result may be deactivation of the member's account, if not outright banning. Yes, we do encourage discussion here on STT, but for the sake of keeping the forums uncluttered and easy to follow it is best if members can respect this rule. It is expected that we all will post non-helpful comments now and again - this is part of the atmosphere - but please do try to remember that the club has a purpose other than just posting comments.
6. The Sith Training Temple is NOT a venue for expressing derogatory comments toward others, nor is it intended to be used for the purpose of expressing political concerns about individuals or groups. Inflammatory posts regarding individuals or organizations will not be tolerated.
Please keep in mind that these rules are quite generalized and further editing of this post may be required to deal with more specific instances should they occur. It comes down to this; the site is meant to be fun and comfortable for its members.
Thank you all for choosing to be part of the STT. We are proud to say that the general collection of members on this club have no need for such rules. But reality steps in and taps one on the shoulder, saying, "you know, you really need to have a clearly stated set of rules here".
